Directing Energy

What Every System Is Made Of

by
Kathryn Maloney M.A. ABS

Kathryn sees what a system is actually running on. The fear interfering with strategy, the untapped power no one has touched, the truth no one will say, the trust waiting on someone to go first. She names it, confronts what the system works around, and holds the discomfort where change begins, across vision, leadership, communication, power, structures, culture, and brand, until what is truer and more durable emerges and holds. Thirty years inside complex, high-stakes systems stand behind her work, through Theeo, the practice she leads with the makers, builders, and mavericks doing real change in real systems.

Your thoughts tell you lies. To hold you in the past. To interfere with your potential. To limit you.

You want to cultivate the ability to keep a close eye on them. To call out the lies as they attempt to entangle you in story, to swirl you around in a narrative, not of your conscious choosing.

An Observing Practice

The practice is to keep your thoughts at arm's length. To watch your own churn and emotional waves with neutrality and curiosity. You allow your first inclination, otherwise known as a reaction, to pass without attaching to it, without acting. You do the same with the second, third, and fourth reptilian instinct. By allowing it to move through and interrupting your own propensity to act, you give yourself time to get to higher ground.

The unconscious, the performative, and the auto-response settle this way. And from there you can more objectively decide what is worth acting from. And what you send into the room.

Words Cast Intent

Words and actions are not neutral. They are catalysing forces, harbingers of energy that shape what you bring into form.

How you practice your thinking, manage your emotional state, and then choose your words to act from clarity and integrity influences the field's latent potential. You are not only impacting yourself and one other.

How you practice, behave, say, and do travels the whole field.

What happens right here can be felt a continent away.

Your power to cause harm or healing lives in words and deeds.

They ripple. Locally and afar.

Shaping Energy Strategically

How your energy moves in the world shapes experience. Your own and others'.

Can you control outcome?

No.

You can control intent. You can strategically imagine and draft pathways. You can revise regularly and with awareness.

This is you directing your energy with wisdom, the vibration and frequency unseen and always felt, the experience people have of interacting, working with, and learning from you.

Self-Directing Power

Learning to direct your energy wisely is an essential part of growth, change, and evolution. Individually. Collectively. Systemically.

Directing wisely is about mastery, maturity, and learning to lead. Power over reaches for control and domination, manipulation, entrapment, holding another hostage. Power from within directs its own energy.

Learn to lead from self-directing power, with your conscious awareness. Learn to own responsibility both for yourself and your impact. Learn to sit with the discomfort and accountability. And the practice compounds, in you and in every system you stand in.

Thought Loops and Patterns

Your innate power lives in how thought loops and patterns wire within you, how your words are crafted and whether they carry truth, and what the honest intent is behind your action, or inaction. This is a well worth going down.

The excavation is worth the bravery it asks of you.

Your ability to feel and self-regulate emotionally is a part of this. So is your willingness to move through aged systems and a changing world with the understanding that your energy is not neutral nor invisible. Rather, it is freely yours to consciously direct, to sharpen, and to build from.

The integrity of your wisdom, sought, found, and integrated, taps you in. Leans you into the truth. Dismantles the scripts. Crafts new frequencies and structures to operate from. Builds new platforms from which to act with entirely new discerning eyes and a sharpened sword for language.

Learning how to direct your energy with wisdom is learning to lead with heart and strength of character.

A system is composed of the energy every person inside it chooses to direct into it.

You’ve got this. x
